Ssslllooowww

So I am a little behind as always. For Halloween Allie was a ballerina for school (which I missed getting a picture of because I thought I could later, wrong) then a princess for the trunk or treat. Elena was a princess and Eddie was a U fan to match his mom and dad. Allie had a parade at school which they decided to move outside this year. The weather had been warm all week, but there was no sun shining that morning which means cold in Loa. So the kids and parents were all shivering as the kids walked around the block. We had fun at the trunk or treat at our church and then went home, turned off all of the lights and starting watching a movie in our bedroom. Then Scott was called into work since he was on-call and I sent the girls to their room for a few minutes since they couldn't seem to handle sitting next to each other. So all in all a fine Halloween.

Eddie rolled over for the first time last Friday. He hasn't done it since and doesn't seem too interested in the idea. He does want to sit up though. If I put him with his head on a pillow he tries to pull himself to a sitting position, but falls over in the attempt. We tried feeding him food a couple weeks ago and he did okay for a few minutes, but then threw it all up. I decided to wait a month and try again. I love this picture of him in his bouncy seat. He pushes himself over, then he can't get back up because the bar is in the way. Silly boy.

Elena turns 4, Allie loses a tooth & Eddie "finds" his voice

Elena had her 4th birthday on Saturday. She has been so excited for it to come. Scott went to help a friend bring an elk off the mountain on Saturday morning so Elena had to wait for him to come home before she could open presents. I am glad he got home shortly after lunch so I didn't have to listen to the girls anticipation any longer. She got a movie, a Fancy Nancy puzzle, Barbie fishing rod (her father was very proud of her for properly calling it a fishing rod), book and money. The puzzle has glitter on it (those of you who know Scott know he HATES glitter, but he was kind enough to help put the puzzle together with us yesterday. He must love his girls! We went to Pizza Hut in Richfield on Friday night for her birthday dinner. She picked a chocolate cake and I convinced her to go with chocolate frosting (she wanted pink frosting, but her chocolate loving mother didn't think that sounded as good) with pink sprinkles.

Allie lost her 2nd tooth on Sunday and was very excited about it. She had been hoping it would come out before her class pictures last week, but oh well.

Eddie discovered his voice on Sunday. He was making a screeching sound that I think he must recognize as a familiar sound that he hears from his sisters. He kept making the screeching sound over and over. At least when he does it he is still happy. Usually when his sisters do it, they are not happy with something (dinner, bedtime, pretty much anything for Elena). The sweater he is wearing in the picture was made my former boss's (Karie) mom. Karie gave it to me when Allie was born. She picked the one with the blue bunnies even though Allie was a girl, now I am glad because I think Eddie looks so cute in it and I don't think pink would work.

Mommy Monday

With Scott working in Salina on Monday nights we have started having "Mommy Mondays" with those of us left at home. Tonight the girls put makeup on and we did our hair. Elena and I simply brushed our hair (I couldn't convince Elena to do any more than that) and Allie really had her hair done. The girls are always wanting to put makeup on and I thought if we did it together it might help appease their requests and avoid a possible disaster of them putting makeup on by themselves without me present. Things went pretty well besides the fact that I think all of my lipsticks are no longer in the same condition they were before we started, but since I don't ever wear lipstick it doesn't really matter.

Eddie pretty much just fussed on and off. He was probably wondering how he got stuck at home with the girls!

A Little "Behind"

Eddie's cute behind, aka his "Wrangler bum". I would have never guessed that I would have a baby with a wrangler bum, but since living in Wayne County, I have found that his dad was meant to wear wranglers. They fit him great as a tall and skinny cowboy.

So I am a little behind on our BLOG. I keep taking pictures that I intend to BLOG, I just seeem to have a hard time getting the blogging part done. So here are a few pictures.

It took several tries to get a picture of Eddie in his crocs. He kept kicking so the pictures were blurry.

Eddie loves this swing. I am so glad because until this week he hasn't liked the bouncy seat. He will now sit in the bouncy seat usually just long enough for me to prepare dinner, but that is long enough.

Scott has started a second job doing office therapy at an office in Salina. The clinical director and program director at the ranch run the office. He works Monday nights doing 2-3 hours of therapy. He is also probably going to start helping out with some hospice patients. We are excited for this opportunity for him. It will be great experience for him and it makes it possible for me to not teach so many piano students.

I have about half as many students as I had last year and it has definitely helped. I made myself a sling to hold Eddie in while I teach. So far it has worked well. I don't teach on Wednesdays and it is nice having the break. I also get done earlier than I did last year so I don't have to make dinner earlier in the day unless I want to. Most days I have Allie do her homework while I am making dinner which has worked well so far. She has been good to get it done quickly instead of taking all night to get it done like she often did last year.

Allie's 1st Day of 2nd Grade

Allie enjoyed her 1st day of 2nd grade. Elena missed her and kept asking if it was time to go get her. We finally left to walk to the store, the post office and then to the school around 1 pm. We arrived at the school half and hour before school got out so we just waited on the grass in the shade until she came out. As we walked Elena was telling me funny stories about when she was 16 (she doesn't quite understand the order of age). We have been worried about Allie this week because she has had a cold and she has a hard time getting rid of colds, but she wasn't coughing too much today. Allie is excited because she gets to be the student of the week today, tomorrow and all of next week. Yeah for an "A" name.

Eddie's 2 Month Checkup & His 1st Smile

Eddie has his 2 month checkup yesterday. He weighed in at 12 1/2 lbs. and 23 1/4 inches long. When he got his shots the nurse looked over at Allie and Elena and they both had their fingers in their ears so they wouldn't have to hear him cry. She made a comment and I replied that they probably cry more than he does.

Last night Eddie smiled for the first time (when he was conscious, he has smiled a few times in his sleep). I tried to hurry and grab the camera, but the picture I got doesn't resemble a smile at all, as you can see above. We tried to get him to smile again when Scotty got home so he could see, but we were unsuccessful, so hopefully Daddy will get to see the smile soon.

Allie Lost Her 1st Tooth

On Monday Allie lost her first tooth. She was SOOO excited. She was very excited the next morning to find six quarters under her pillow. She particularly likes quarters because there is a pencil machine and eraser machine at school where she can buy a pencil or eraser for a quarter. She is already planning on buying one of each first thing tomorrow morning (the first day of school). She has also already tried using a straw through her hole where her tooth used to be.

Eddie's Blessing

We blessed Eddie today. Scott did a great job. It was fun to have family and friends here to share the experience with us. Thanks to everyone who helped! It was really crowded in Sacrament meeting because a young man in our ward who is leaving on a mission spoke today. He has been highlighted in the New Era and on national tv. He only has one has one arm, but he played on the school's baseball and basketball teams. He is quite the inspiration to the community. We heard there were over 800 people in sacrament meeting. It was as full as it is for stake conference.

First Fishing Trip

Last Friday we went to Lower Bowns with Papa (Scott's Dad) and the scouts from Papa's ward. We had a lot of fun. Scotty and the girls built a sandcastle and a sand reservior with a stream outlet.

On a baby shower invitation for Andrea there was a part that said "We ask a simple question and this is what we wish-will Daddy wait a little while before teaching him to fish?" Scott figured a month was long enough to wait, especially considering his middle name is Sage.

Here are some more pictures of Eddie, Elena, and Allie. He has his sisters wrapped around his little fingers:

Potty Training

Well it finally happened, Elena is potty trained (well into the process at least)!!!!! Andrea decided to try letting Elena's diapers run out so there wasn't really any other option than putting panties on. So when they ran out of diapers she put Elena's panties and shorts on and then left Elena in the bathroom. Elena starting crying (her cry is pretty much a scream) and pulled off her panties and shorts and put herself on her special pink potty. She and Scott had a daddy daughter date a few days after Eddie was born and Elena picked out her pink potty with a soft cushion seat. Well she sat on the potty and cried for the next 2 hours. She went potty a few times and got some candy, never leaving her potty. After about 5 hours Andrea finally told her that she could have the doll they had bought especially for when she learned to go potty if she would get off the potty and put her panties on. During this 5 hours part of the time Elena was crying that she wanted to go play. Andrea told her she could go play, nobody said she had to sit on the potty all day. Elena has done great since then. She has had some accidents, but she changes her own clothes and gets better each day. It only took 2 years and several attempts, but we are finally there!!!!!

More Eddie

Here are a few more pictures of Eddie. He had his 2 week checkup last week and weighed in at 7 lb. 9 oz. and still 20 1/2 inches long. He is a good baby. He even sleeps through Elena's loudness.

Edward Sage Peterson Arrives!!!

Edward Sage Peterson
Born June 24, 2008
6:19 a.m.
6 pounds 13 ounces
20 1/2 inches

Yep, those are Eddie's stats!

Now, sit back and relax for the story will be entertaining.

So, last Tuesday Andrea went in for her appointment and the Dr. checks her and says, "Whoa! There's his head" she was dialated to a 2. So, for the rest of the week she decides to take it easy because Scott was on call all week.
Without too many details, before Sunday night Scott had worked 100 hours at the Ranch and had dealt with one colicing horse, a death of another horse, and many other situations while on-call.

So, 10:30 p.m. rolls around and three students decide it is a great idea to run away from the ranch. Scott is on the ERT at the ranch and thus was involved in chasing and relocating them. It took all night and into early Monday afternoon to catch them. So, after being up for around 30 straight hours he came home and slept for 2.5 hours.

While Scott was sleeping Andrea started having contractions every half-hour and then they started getting closer and closer together.

(Oh yeah, by the way, Monday was our 9th Wedding Anniversary!) At around 5 p.m. Andrea comes in and wakes Scott up and plans to go to dinner for their anniversary. As Scott is showering her contractions get within three minutes of one another so, Scott's shower was cut a bit short.

It was a good thing that Nanna (Scott's Mom) had come to help get things ready because it was quite a rush getting out of town and headed to Richfield.

On the way to Richfield Andrea decided to go and get things checked out at the hospital. After about one hour of being at the hospital and finding Andrea progressing from a 4 to a 5 in that hours they kept her there.

As Andrea and Scott rested from Scott's long day and Andrea's labor through most of the night, at to the impressive prediction from the Doctor, at about 4:30 a.m. Andrea got an epideral and at 6:19 Edward was born.

Andrea and Eddie are doing great! Here's some pictures:
