Fishing for FHE

Tonight for Family Home Evening we went fishing at a local stream. Scotty has been working a lot of extra hours lately so it was nice to have him home for an evening. Yesterday Scott woke up at 8:15 and came in the front room where I was and was freaking out because it was 8:15. I asked him if he had presidency meeting he said no and just said it's 8:15. I looked at him and said yeah... then he frantically said "I'm late for work!" I calmly told him that it was Sunday. I told him you know you've been working too much when you can't even remember what day it is anymore. Anyway, when we got to the creek Mike (the guy Scott guides for) was there with three of his kids, one who is Allie's age. They were excited to see each other. After we were done fishing, Scott started a fire and we roasted marshmallows and had S'mores. Before we started the fire Elena kept asking what the fire camp was. It was really cute to see them expereince something new. Elena preferred her marshmallows "plain white" instead of brown, Allie enjoyed the middle of the toasted marshmallow and Scott and I enjoyed the whole thing. It was a fun family night.

Hair?

So a week ago on Sunday Allie and Elena decided to cut each other's hair. Allie's didn't look too bad, just a little extra layering. Elena's was on a slant 2-3 inches shorter than it used to be. A couple of summers ago Allie cut her own hair very short and we have discussed many times since then that she shouldn't cut her own hair. We would particularly discuss that whenever she was wishing her hair was longer. Oh well I guess that is part of childhood. The picture below shows how short Allie cut her hair 2 years ago.

Catching Up

So, we thought that since it has been since March we would try and post something interesting. It is interesting that we all sometimes think that our lives are boring and that what we do isn't interesting.

Scott continues keeping himself busy at Aspen Ranch and working with his horse. Parent Day's are going on right now and that means a lot of additional hours and responsiblities. But, it is this time of year that makes working at the Ranch worth the time and effort because he gets to see first hand that families are growing closer together and that things are not really as bad as they seem at times.

He also has started fly-fishing more now that the days are longer and (hopefully) warming up more. Here is a recent picture from a trip:

Andrea continues working on getting ready for the baby to get here. We have decided to name him Edward Sage in case you were wondering. Edward for two of our grandfathers and Sage after a fly-fishing company. We figured that we would combine ideas for naming him after Grandparents and Scott as well. Fly-fishing has become such a huge part of our lives that we would add that to the name.

Andrea continues teaching piano but only for a couple more weeks then she will be taking the summer off. She is doing well and definitely has the "waddle" of a pregnant lady!!

Allie is doing well and is looking forward to having the summer off. She finishes school on the 23rd which also happens to be our three year anniversary of Scott starting at Aspen Ranch. She is looking forward to being able to help get things ready for Eddie to come. She will be a great oldest sister.

Elena also is getting ready for Eddie to come. We are unsure as to how she will react not being the baby of the family. She continues giving us all a run for our money and showing her strong will to not be potty trained. We are working on patience!

Eddie is just hanging out and staying warm. He likes to kick his mother and push his foot (we think) out to have Andrea push back.
